is not missing, just taking a break.
As Ellen noted, it's a bandwidth problem. Geocities
being a free webhosting site (part of Yahoo), it
imposes limits to the usage of their pages UNLESS one
pays a fee. If it gets a lot of use within a certain
timeperiod, Geocities shuts off the access to the site
for awhile. I think it usually starts up again in
about an hour.
This may mean that the question IS popping up again,
so that people are accessing the site to find "the"
answer. I may hear about it later because many of them
send me e-mail, either thanking me or proposing yet
another "true" answer.
Of course, I should probably try to switch it to a
page without such a restriction through one of my
other ISPs, but the Geocities file manager is easy to
use and I have never figured out how to upload pages
otherwise. And then everyone would have to redo their
links and bookmarks, too.
A couple of months ago someone tried to make a link to
my "gry" page from the Wikipedia page on the topic,
but some Wikipedia moderator deleted the link,
apparently because they, too, ran against the
bandwidth problem -- they couldn't get to the page so
they decided it was nonfunctioning.
