Etape (accent aigu on the first e): noun feminine. Halting-place, stage,
station: day's march, distance between staging points, depot, emporium.
Bruler l'etape, to pass through without stopping; course par etapes
(cycling), race by stages; faire etape dans une ville, to stop in a town.
