Sorry--for the sake of the archives I need to correct my erroneous
description of _Dolphin Island_ after re-reading it. No Japanese
soldier, instead relics of a woman who fled the island in a metal tub
after an attack, in the 1880s. Clarke based it on the real story of Mary
Watson:
