My thanks to Charles Early and Dennis Lein for pointing out CRYPTOZOIC! by 
Brian Aldiss, Martin Amis' TIME'S ARROW and Philip K.Dick's COUNTERCLOCK 
WORLD....I have to admit I didn't think about what a popular idea this would 
be in science fiction, though that would seem the most likely genre for 
exploring the possibilities of the technique.
