Do any of you nice librarians have courses in English as a Second Language taught at your library? I was just asked to teach an ESL course to senior citizens in my neighbourhood. Most of these seniors are Chinese. I have taught ESL for years, but mostly to French and/or Spanish speakers. I'd like to talk to somebody who works with Asian students, about what textbooks they are using. Also, if any of you can recommend a good basic ESL text that wouldn't be too difficult for elderly Chinese students (average age is between 65 and 75), I'd appreciate any ideas. These are wonderful people who are afraid they are "too old" to learn. I wanna show them that they CAN!
