[PW] the Buena Vista in 1958-1960

Colleagues,

A friend of mine needs to know, for a memoir or story he's writing, exactly where the Buena Vista Cafe of fond memory was located in San Francisco in the period 1958-1960.  It's turned out to be harder than I thought to answer this question; the Reference Desk at UCB was unable to help, other than to make a few broad suggestions as to where else I might look.  I wonder if anyone might know the answer, or be able to suggest other people or books that might?
