I caught an eagle yesterday;
I snared him with a rope,
And ever since I brought him home
Hed only perch and mope.
I asked him why and thoughtfully
He cast his sharp eye to me,
We never flock, you know, he said,
I cannot be your roomie.
So out we went to Adlers Crag
And thats where I unlooped him.
And as he gained in lift aloft,
I thrilled that Id uncooped him.
He scowled that eagle's glare of his
And, headlong like Astyanax,
He whispered as he passed nearby,
Say, would you have a Xanax?
