Hello Cindy,

I strongly recommend that you look at Librarians in the Movies:

http://emp.byui.edu/raishm/films/introduction.html

Go to groups A, B and C and search for "microfilm" and you will see
many results including these:

Pickup On South Street (1953) and its remake The Cape Town Affair

CAVEMAN'S VALENTINE (2001). A man uses a microfilm reader to research
newspaper articles about a photographer. He also converses with a
hallucination/dream image of his wife at a younger age.

THE CHANGELING (1980). A librarian (David Peevers, identified in the
movie credits as "microfilm clerk") helps the lead characters use
microfilm in their research about a haunted house.
