Goddard's Global Change Master Directory (http://gcmd.gsfc.nasa.gov/) is an 
excellent resource for almost all earth sciences data.  For example, for 
this question you can select "Oceans" from welcome screen, then -> Ocean 
Chemistry -> Dissolved Gases  leads to 113 data sets.  "Ocean Chemistry" 
also has links to data sets for individual gases, such as carbon dioxide 
and nitrogen.

By the way, the person formerly responsible for this directory, Gene Major, 
became manager of the Goddard Library project last week, and my boss.
