Hi,

  No luck yet on the exact date of J. H. Block's death (only 1934) and the 
email for the Swiss site doesn't seem to be working.

  Block claimed that he was able, on at least one occasion (1892), to make 
wax recordings of a "well-known" Russian hypnotist, a 'Mr Feldmann' (in Moscow) 
- perhaps the first recorded trance (one convincing the subject that she saw 
and chased a bird that did not exist). None of the references however mention 
his first name.

  So how "well-known" was this fellow?
