Well, yes; but even thirty years ago the word was already a bit, er,  quaint. 
Then, as now, one says _extra-illustrated_ instead. 
 
(At this moment, for example, _grangerized_ appears in eight  listings on 
ILAB.org, while _extra-illustrated_ appears in 2,125  listings.)
