I know the *word* -- I just don't recall what it means.  Something to do
with legal citation cross-indexing, it seems vaguely to me.

Responding to Idle Query mostly because I wanted to post this morning
anyway and let my fellow Wombats who may have heard about the major
freeway/bridge collapse last night a few blocks from where I work that
neither my wife nor I (nor, so far as I've heard yet) anyone we know
was on the scene.
