I have been a library patron for 50+ years and I am laughing at the thought the patron is too darn lazy to follow up on the excellent information you provided. It matters not if the request is that you write, call, or email. That patron has exceeded the boundaries of what should be expected of librarians. It is rather along the lines of the student who wants a librarian to find and then do their homework for them.
