[PW] Need title of book

I wonder if he's thinking (at least partially) of the 1968 book, _The
American Challenge_, by Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber, which was a 291
page compilation of some his editorials on how Europe needs to catch up
with America's industrial/government/educational achievements. I don't
have a copy of the book here, so I can't check, but maybe he mentioned
Henry Ford and how he affected American enterprise. I have looked at
mentions from the Book Review Digest, and they are not that specific.
Here is the Wikipedia article on the author and his book -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Jacques_Servan-Schreiber#The_American_
Challenge

Hope this helps.

Subject: [PW] Need title of book

This is what the patron remembers: 40 to 50 years ago he read a book on
the industrial revolution in America. He's sure the phrase "America's
[maybe "American"] Industrial Revolution" was in the title, possibly as
a subtitle. But he's also sure that the book was about the second
industrial revolution that took place after the American Civil War The
book focused on Henry Ford and the introduction of the assembly line at
Highland Park in Detroit, so I think he is right in that the book was
about the second industrial revolution. He's sure the author was French
and that the book was a translation. It was not a children's book, and
his best guess is that the book was three hundred pages long. I have
searched OCLC using the title phrase "America's Industrial Revolution"
and the variant "American Industrial Revolution, ignoring books
published after 1976. Also looked through bookfinder.com, trying the
keywords "Ford" and "Industrial Revolution." Many thanks for any help.
