[PW] Children's Book About A Woman Pirate

Hi Everyone,

A patron came in at the weekend looking for a particular book -

A children's book
She read it about 12 years ago
About an Irish Woman Pirate who travels to Scotland and the Caribbean
The cover features the pirate and her pet tiger
She participates in a running race against men and wins
It was written by an Author who usually writes books for adults

Anyone have any ideas? I've checked Novelist and looked on the net
extensively. She thinks the pirate was named Ara, I asked her if it was
based on Anne Bonny or Grania O'Malley but she didn't think so...
