A remarkable example must surely be Richard Bruce Cheney who, with no 
apparent formal preparation in business or in the energy field, became 
Chairman of the Board and CEO of Halliburton Energy Services. I have 
used his example often to encourage young people, including my own 
children, to have confidence in the serendipities of the American way.
