My undergraduate studies were in drama.  Once we had one of these
bizarre want-to-laugh-out-loud questions, whose answer (insofar as the
question could be answered) took an extensive reference interview and
well over half an hour's time.  After the patron left, my co-worker
said, "I don't know how you could keep a straight face through all
that."

I replied, "That's where the acting training comes in handy."
