[PW] ?German data base for music

One of our faculty members sent this question:

 

"I had a call from a former music student who is doing some research and
who wanted to know if there was a German data base for music or a
European data base similar to the Grove's Encyclopedia."

 

I tried Google searches using +site:de (or +site:eu) +datenbasis +muzik
or substituting +enzyklopadie but did not see anything that seemed
promising. 

What titles should I suggest to her?

 

(Since she speaks of Grove's Encyclopedia, I did locate Jahn, B., ed.
Deutsche Biographische Enzyklopadie der Musiker (2 vol.) 2003. K. G.
Saur. But that is nowhere near the size nor does the title seem to offer
more than perhaps might be found in Slonimsky in English. And, of
course, it did not offer a database where I found it.)
