This is not an answer to the question, but I have to mention it:

I recall when Woody Allen was doing standup gigs, one of his routines 
included a short piece in which he relaxing is at home one evening, when all 
of a sudden there are floodlights in the windows, and helicopters overhead, 
and a voice on a loud-hailer saying:

'This is the New York Public Library! Come out with your hands in the air, 
kicking the book in front of you!"
