If you visit the Internet Broadway Database www.ibdb.com you can click on
the link Advanced Search and search by number of performances. I can't link
to the search results page directly, but I did a search for shows with
Greater Than 1,000 performances and, indeed, Deathtrap is number 31.
I searched Playbill.com for info on the original production in 1978, to no
avail. I seem to recall hearing about this declaration prior to this,
though, so I'll keep searching.
