Over the years we've gotten lots of requests like this one.
For example, "What does 'spot' mean?"
So we scratch our heads and wonder what the context is: a dog's name? a
solar disturbance? a rain stain on the ceiling? a paper money
denomination? a beverage serving? Usually someone will guess and offer
an earnest solution, but the response to it is often something like,
"No, actually I need to know what 'spot-on' means."
Yours looks like a French version of Dame Fortune or Lady Luck, the
personification of luck or fate. But the phrase is not capitalized, and
besides we don't where it came from, so....
