[PW] Identify the hardware

A friend asked for some help identifying some hardware he received from his 
mother-in law. Here's the description in his own words:
"My mother in law gave me these two items and I cannot find out what they 
are. She is convinced that they are some antique fishing equipment. They 
kind of look like little boat anchors, are all stainless steel and have the 
words "D. Sachsen." printed on them.
They are about 4.5 inches long. They also appear to be high quality 
stainless, the quality you might find on an boat from the 30's or
before. Think you can find out what they might be?"

I've also already told him that Sachsen is a metal working center in 
Germany, so the D. Sachsen. is likely a manufacturer mark and not a name. 
Unfortunately, I don't have any resources that'll help identify the 
manufacturer, let alone identify the items.

Any ideas?
