If you ask modern Greeks and Hebrews, you will find answers
quite different than you have been given previously.
There are HUGE differences, right from the moment you get
off the plane and ask for the time to set your watch.
My father had a student who went to Israel and asked for the time
in classical Hebrew, and was laughingly told she had just asked:
"Got the time?"
If you know what that means.
There's quite a difference between the reality of being there
and what a scholar tells you.
The scholar can only expose you to a map.
Being there exposes you to the territory.
One of my favorite sayings:
"Don't confuse the map with the territory.
Thanks!!!
