Okay- first hand experience here. Wedding gifts are entirely appropriate 
and will be graciously accepted. Something useful (it doesn't need to be 
blue, that is usually the color of the bride's wedding dress and has 
little impact anywhere else in the wedding) and/or handmade would be 
fine. Anything in the category of linens, cooking tools, pottery, or 
dishes will all pass muster.
