She sent me the joke, which was a variation of the one here:

The one she sent had the line, "You work for FEMA."

Prior to Katrina, the line in the joke was usually, "You're a consultant."

Do a Google search for "Give me back my dog" and "consultant" and you'll 
find hundreds of examples.
