Why? for heavens sake. Is Marmite prohibited too? Vegemite is just an 
imitation of Marmite. An inferior imitation? I've heard it said so, but 
I dunno. In any case, it's not one of the greatest inventions of all 
time, just a neat way to use up a by-product from brewing.  (Or so I've 
been told.)
