In "What Can a Heroine Do? or Why Women Can't Write," Joanna Russ
refers to "potting a twelve-foot-tall batrachian with a kerosene
lamp" and later explains that her example "is from a short story by
H. P. Lovecraft and August Derleth." But which short story? Does this
description rings a bell with anyone?
