Wouldn't it be dragon's teeth -- or hydra's heads?
Or do I have my mythology confused?

I need help in identifying a poem about Arlington National Cemetery in
which the grave markers are compared to hydra's teeth. (Actually, the
patron said that the poem "mentioned" Arlington Cemetery.) The patron's
husband read the poem about 14 years ago, and paraphrased a illustrative
line as "men are planted and up pop hydra's teeth."
Any ideas will be gratefully entertained. TIA.
