One of the better sources for U.S. Supreme Court opinion analyses is BNA's U.S. Law Week. Unfortunately, our collection only goes back to 1996 and BNA's web version only goes back to 1997. However, if you have a local law library, you may want to check with them to see what they have. You could also check with local law firm libraries if you know of any. You may also want to try the law-lib listserv. If you can't/don't want to sign up for it, I would be happy to pass along your message. It's a fantastic community of law librarians across the country who are more than willing to help. Just like this one. :)

By the way, I Shepardized the case for you and nothing of significance (re: analysis) came up. I also checked Heinonline, but there were no law journal articles specific to the case.

Project Wombat Community:

I worked with a student in a judicial process class yesterday for
over an hour in searching for commentary and analysis about the
significance of the U. S. Supreme Court decision, Touby v. United
States (1991). Ideally, what he sought were articles from newspapers
or periodicals that discussed the significance of the
decision. Touby gets into how the U. S. Attorney General administers
the schedules for controlled substances.

We searched such databases as Lexis-Nexis Academic, EBSCO's Legal
Collection, Social Science Abstracts, Social Science Citation Index,
SciFinder, Public Affairs Information Service, and Worldwide
Political Science Abstracts. We also searched the online catalog
using the keyword phrase controlled substances. We found a view
brief mentions of the case only. We looked at Lexis-Nexis for law
review articles, but the case only appeared in footnotes of the
articles examined in detail.

If anyone can suggest other sources that devote substance to a
discussion of Touby, I will be extremely grateful. Thank you for
your time and assistance.
