I thought I remembered a fine essay by author Don Webb on the
importance in his young life of libraries -- but it had been a few
years since I read it, and when I tracked it down I realized
I'd misremembered: it was on the importance to his young life
on small independent bookstores (as opposed to the chainstores).
Since this may also be of some interest to some here, and since
some of the points may also carry-over in praise of libraries
with hands-on librarians, I'll add the URL link anyway:
