Tsviya:
Speaking from the "Buckle of the Bible Belt,"I think this is two different questions. Evangelicals use a wide range of Bible versions. The NIV and the TNIV are some of the more popular ones. I myself use the NASB, and the ESV and the New King James Versions. Many in my church will only use the KJV. I teach in a strict fundamentalist university and seminary and the KJV is the preferred version, although many of our incoming students have never read it. Othere prefer the NRSV, the RSV.

Subject: [PW] Bible Belt Bible
I was asked yesterday what Bible is used by the Evangelicals in the US
today. The patron then added, as a synonym, the Bible Belt. I'm not sure
the two terms are synonymous; I don't know if there is one particular
translation that all evangelicals prefer. I can't think of any source to
which I have access that will begin to answer this question, so I am passing
it on to you.
As always, any help will be appreciated.
