Many people in the so-called Bible Belt, or the part of the United
States known as the "deep south", are Evangelical Baptists, or
Assembly of God, or other fundamentalist Protestant denominations. I
assume they use whatever translation of the New Testament is popular
amongst Southern Baptists these days-- perhaps one published by
Zondervan or another respected Christian publishing house. I am sure
some of the listmembers who are Protestant can tell us more-- up
north, the Revised Standard Version of the NT is very common, but I
don't think that's the most popular version in the south.
