Hi Elizabeth. I looked on Google Germany and turned up one piece of information which might
be useful if you get absolutely nowhere with this.
 
I noticed that a guestbook for a magicians forum was signed by her son, Vito Victor. He actually
mentions that Maria Gleit was his mother (who had met a famous magician) AND it gives his email address
which is victors75 at rattlebrain.com.

There seems to be a book in several German libraries which is called something along the lines
of “Women Writing in Exile: 1930 – 1950) and says it contains biographical information, including
Maria Gleit. My German is too rusty for much beyond that. This is one of the references:
