I would like to thank everyone who responded, especially Michael
Caricofe who had a lot of information on this subject.

I found it interesting that as a coal miner, my grandfather even had a
will. He died in a tent on the lawn of the Mid-Valley Hospital
(Peckville, PA) in November, from drinking gasoline. It was the
influenza epidemic and people thought kerosene was a cure. Some one
gave him a pint of whiskey with gasoline in it.

My grandmother was also sick with the flu and thought her husband was
murdered for his body, by the brother of one of the undertakers in town.
The family put this theory down to her having a high fever, but she
always believed it.
