Negative evidence only so far, I'm afraid. No listings of any word with a
similar meaning under any spelling starting with jud-, jut-, joo-, jou-,
jew-, or gew- in any of the following:
* OED (2nd ed.)
* Dictionary of American Regional English
* Dictionary of Americanisms (Bartlett)
* A Dictionary of Americanisms (Mathews)
* http://www.worldwidewords.org/
Having an overactive etymological imagination, I could probably invent a
dozen spurious but vaguely plausible etymologies, but somehow I suspect
that this is not what your patron would prefer. :-)
