1925 Washington D.C. James Langston Hughes said, "I tried to write poems like the songs they sang on Seventh Street...(these songs) had the pulse beat of the people who keep on going."
Seems to me that music from that era would be very good. Also, Duke Ellington and James P. Johnson music.
