On a blog site called "DVD Purgatory" about TV shows that
should be available on video/DVD but are not I found this
(via google cache only):
"An Englishman's Castle" is a British 3-part mini-series, and is also a
parallel-world story, but a more "conventional" one: it's the present
(1970s), and Germany won WWII and has occupied Britain for the past 30
years. Sir Kenneth More plays a writer for a "contemporary" drama set back
during that war. (It's clearly supposed to be the parallel-version of A
Family At War, a popular British 1970s war-soap that also played in the US
on Masterpiece Theater. Got that?) But, at long last, a Resistance is
brewing. This series played on PBS in the late 1970s and is fondly
remembered by many; it's not even available in the UK, let alone the US.
