Mary B. asks how to say "daughter's mother-in-law."
There are a few words that I know in other languages, but not in English. I don't think there's an English word, but in Yiddish, your kid's mother-in-law is your machatayniste, where "ch" is pronounced as in the composer "Bach," and "tay" is as in the English word "stay." Accent on mach-ah-TAY-nis-teh.
Your kid's family-in-law are your "machatunim," I think. (Accent on "tun," where the vowel is the same as in the English word "put.")
I realize that if you say, "This is Ruth, my machatayniste," you probably need more words to explain that-all too, until enough people learn that word.
