Could it be the "Childhood of Famous Americans" series? They were
originally published in the 1930's and have been in print (with slight
modifications) ever since. My favorite was Thomas Edison, but all the
women you mentioned were there too! www.mariinc.com/seriescofa.html

Subject: [PW] Historical series for young adults about famous women
I am not a member of the list, so please reply directly to me.
When I was young, I devoured (several times over) a series of books
about famous American women. The books - there were maybe 10-15 in the
series - were mostly about the women as young girls. The women I can
remember who were part of the series were Clara Barton, Amelia Earhart,
Louisa May Alcott, Dolly Madison, and maybe Harriet Beecher Stowe and
Abigail Adams. Possibly Annie Oakley. I do not recall authors or
publisher. I read these books in the late 1960s.
Did a general search on google and amazon, but didn't find anything
that looked too likely. Does anyone remember a series like this? Thanks!
