So far, I only find reference below which does not include his first
name. Still, there might be some clues in quote below:
http://www.davidsarnoff.org/vtm-chapter1.htm
"Mr. Leon Scott (de Martinville) is generally credited with having been
the first to demonstrate, in 1857, that sound could be recorded.
However, it would appear that Chladni and Duhamel, in 1809, and
Eisenmanger, in 1836, produced somewhat similar results in Paris."

Subject: [PW] ?inventor named Eisenmanger
Hi,
Since we are always curious to learn full (first) names of once
important
people, I thought I would ask if anyone knows such details about a man
referred
to only as 'Eisenmanger' -- he supposedly invented a device to record
piano
notes in 1836. He may have obtained a British or German patent on the
contraption, but little emerges on the Internet. Is he real or a figment
of someone's
imagination? Is he listed in any major 19th century scientific Indices?
Thanks!
Allen
