Belatedly catching up and this isn't quite what you were looking for, but for 
what it's worth: _Lord Gnome's Literary Companion_ (ed. Francis Wheen, 1994) is 
a very funny anthology of cutting reviews from the British magazine _Private 
Eye_, focusing on the weaknesses of bestselling hack writers as well as literary 
sacred cows.
