Donna,
Billboard still has international chart information, but you have to be a subscriber. At $19.95 a month for some of the charts in English, it might be worth it: http://www.billboard.biz/bb/biz/currentcharts/internationalcharts.jsp
Otherwise, there are a couple of websites that list top 10/top 100 charts in various countries, most of which are in their native language. Here is one that seems to have the most current links: http://www.lanet.lv/misc/charts/
Also, here is the Rianz "The Official New Zealand Music Chart": http://www.rianz.org.nz/rianz/chart.asp

Subject: [PW] international top40 charts
Billboard magazine used to have the top songs from foreign countries, but I
can't find it online anymore. I need to know the top songs in Hong Kong,
Taiwan, or New Zealand-- just to give three of examples. Anybody know a
site that lists the big hit songs from various countries? I can find
England and Canada easily, but am having no luck with other
countries. Thanks for the help-- I am working on an article about
globalisation and how it has affected the music industry...
