And the spell checker of course won't warn you about the pronounciation
differences. Over here,

waistcoat is "wescott" and medicine is "medsin" - but I have heard it might
be a regional thing.

Not all Brits say "shedule" for schedule. Some say "bawth" and some say
"baath" for bath.

It was ages before I realised that they "al-u-min-EE-um" because they spell
it with an extra

syllable over here. 

 

But you could just email me (I'm not far from London) and I'll hang my head
around the door and

ask my british husband if I'm not sure..
