I would like to thank everyone who responded to this query. There were
a lot of great responses. When I learned how to introduce people (we
had manners lessons in our English class) we were told to introduce the
young person to the older person and give a little information about
each. "Miss Jones, this is my friend from New York, Helen Smith."
"Helen, Miss Jones was my first grade teacher." That's why the double
in-law thing came up, especially when most people (small town) know one
or the other of the in-laws.
