The Pig Plantagenet does involve boars, but they live in a medieval French forest and stay as far away from people as possible. 
   
  Having said that, a big thank you to Daphne for mentioning it as it's one of my favourite children's books. It is just conceivable I might be a bit biased, though: the author was my late great-uncle.
