Hello again w0mbats,

Thanks for the answers - it now seems that the phrase "warm fuzzy", which
has its own archivist:
http://www.noogenesis.com/pineapple/fuzzyhomepage.html

and is defined at www.urbandictionary.com as:
"The warm, pleasant sensations one feels in the stomach and heart area when
emotionally moved"

has sort of also morphed into fuzzy wuzzy feeling, which has 89 hits on
Google, eg:
"Infatuation is nothing more than that TEMPORARY warm emotional fuzzy wuzzy
feeling WITHOUT having any real bond, or commitment."

And to correct my previous statement - in my print version of the Macquarie
Dictionary here at home, fuzzy wuzzy is only 'sometimes derogatory' for
Africans, and simply 'colloquial' for native inhabitants of Papua New Guinea
- so safe to use in Australia if referring to Melanesians.

I'm still surprised that this newish usage of fuzzy and fuzzy wuzzy, as a
feeling, hasn't been picked up by the mainstream dictionaries. I think the
name for words like fuzzy wuzzy is just: reduplication.

Finally, here is an Australian example of giving warm fuzzies:
