I remember a poem from childhood:
"Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear
Fuzzy wuzzy had no hair
Fuzzy wuzzy wasn't really fuzzy, was he?"
This is an example of a benevolent use of the term. I seem to recall
children describing their stuffed animals as being "fuzzy wuzzy" also.

I'd have to say that on this side of the Atlantic we'd use "warm and
fuzzy" for sentimental emotionality, but "fuzzy wuzzy" only as a
racist term of abuse for people of African origin.
