"The last man in the world . . . " is no longer the shortest science
fiction story.

It's practically a novel compared to the batch of stories Wired Magazine
solicited from 33 writers and 5 designers, most of them familiar names
in the field of science fiction. The rules: the stories had to be
exactly six words long.

My favorite is actually *not* a science fiction story, Margaret
Atwood's: "Longed for him. Got him. Shit."

But there are some good science fiction ones in there, like:

"Vacuum collision. Orbits diverge. Farewell, love." (David Brin)

and

"We kissed. She melted. Mop please!" (James Patrick Kelly)

Read them all at:

Well, it's not about a composer but it is (kinda) sci-fi. And
it IS the shortest short story ever written--its by Hemingway:

The last man in the world was alone in a room. There
was a knock at the door.

Spooky, huh?
