Patron is trying to find an all-in-one-place list of terms commonly used
in billiards by speakers of Spanish. For instance, terms like "scratch",
"cue", "English", "break", etc.
The patron does not read Spanish, so books or articles about billiards
that are written in Spanish do not serve the purpose; he needs a bilingual
(ideally, English-to-Spanish, or at least Spanish-to-English). He would
strongly prefer not to search for terms individually in a bilingual
dictionary, especially since they tend not to give good coverage to
specialized terminology (for instance, none of our English/Spanish
dictionaries include the billiards-specific usage of "break", "English",
or "scratch").
Moreover, online translation sites (e.g., Babelfish) tend to be very poor
at translating specialized vocabulary.
My Google searches (using both the English-language and Spanish-language
versions) have not succeeded in narrowing the results down to anything
useful. Neither has the Hispanica article about Billiards, nor the
Spanish Wikipedia article on the same.
Any ideas?
