Negative results only:

Using the NoveList database to search children's books, no searches for
"Jennifer" combined with "messy" or with "mess" resulted in any book
matching this description. Knowing how mutable memory can be, I also
tried a few more-or-less sound-alike names -- "Jenny" (various spellings),
"Ginny", "Jessica", "Jesse" (various spellings), and "Ginger" -- with no
better results. Nor did a search of the children's books using the phrase
"messy room" or "messy bedroom" pull up anything matching the description.

I'm fresh out of ideas, unless you can find one of those mythical
libraries where the books are sorted by color ...
